With a view to spreading education and training in this educationally and culturally backward area mostly inhabited by people belonging to SC and ST community the persons interested in education and the intellectuals of this area came forward for establishment of a Teachers Training College in this ‘Jungle Mahal’ linked with the border areas of Bankura, West Midnapore and Purulia. To cope with the situation and to fulfil this noble mission, The ‘SANKALPA TRUST’ emerged and shouldered the responsibility of fulfilling this motto. The Raipur B.Ed. College is the product of meticulous efforts of this Trust and the college got its recognition from the N.C.T.E. on 5th August, 2009. The college is proud of its topography highly enriched with natural beauty, fresh air and green fields. Since the inception of this college it has brilliant academic records in every sphere to its credit. The management of this college is keen and aware to be a part of the National Education Development and the State Govt. and to render its valuable service with its ceaseless efforts for the improvement of education and Training for the years to come. It pledges to fulfil its aims and objectives in spreading education in conformity with the educational policy of the Central and State Govt. to fulfil educational needs of the society as a whole.
With the rapid advancement in the society, there is essential need for revamping the existing
teacher education programme. In recent years the whole edifice of quality school education has
crumbled with the global deterioration of teaching, teachers and teacher education.
An alternative paradigm towards quality teacher education cannot be visualized in isolation, if
requires mutual and collaborative efforts from schools, peer institutions, university, families,
industries, business, voluntary agencies. People active in cultural life and teacher organizations.
Raipur B.Ed. College has been established with the help of collective endeavor of all concern
and has to set the minds of the trainees to be sympathetic and empathetic towards the students, to
be more inquisitive to explore and utilize the expanding horizon of knowledge for improvement
of teaching learning to develop competency to foster an integrated personality within the pupils
and to motivate them towards an incessant quest for new knowledge and above all, to create a
bold and superstition-free mind within the students.
